CBD and THC are two of the best-known phyto-cannabinoidsnaturally present in the hempplant, and CBG is a third cannabinoid that also hasmany positive properties. Cannabigerol, asCBG is called, has great potential, but does not havethe familiarity of CBD and THC. We wouldlike to explain what CBG is really about and whatbenefits the extract of the hemp plant brings. We also compare CBG and CBD directly with each other.
About 100 different cannabinoids can be extractedfrom a hemp plant, one of which is CBG. It isformed from CBGA and CBG acid and eventually developsinto CBD and THC. It is thus thebasis for the most important ingredients of the hempplant, which are cannabidiolic acid, tetrahydrocannabinolic acid and cannabichromic acid.CBG exists predominantly in youngcannabis plants that have not yet developed maximummaturity. With increasing plant age, lessCBG is contained, as this has been converted to CBDand THC. Almost exclusively younghemp plants serve as a source for the extraction ofcannabigerol. So far, the cannabinoid CBG is not as well known asCBD, for example, but it has just as manyhealth benefits and is capable of alleviating ailments. It is therefore desirable that sufficientattention is also paid to this cannabinoid.
